No longer on the Nutrisystem.

Even though I knew I was alergic to soy products, I still went on the nutrisystem. Nutrisystem food has a lot of soy in them. I was fine for awhile, but as time went on, the soy was affecting my thyroid. I should have known something was up when I started to cough eating the nutrisystem bars. And, now it makes a lot of sense why I didn't lose that much weight in the end. I already have an underactive thyroid and eating the soy make my thyroid worse. I haven't decided what my new diet plan will be. I'm still recovering from my sickness. But, I'll let you guys know what route I go and updates on my progress. I wish you guys all the luck on the nutrisystem!

Sick

I've been sick for the last week or so and I'm pretty off nutrisystem right now. I'm just eating whatever. Sometimes I'll eat soup, sometimes carbs, juice. Tonight I got some chicken and veggies at whole foods. I have been eating lately at whole foods. Every time I get sick, I always go to whole foods and get better. Eating organic is really good for you. Hopefully, by next week I'll focus more on nutrisystem and getting back in shape.

Wii Exercise Games

I recently bought a few wii exercise games. Thought it would help me out a little. Both games have excellent reviews on amazon. I'll let you know my progress once I try the exercise games for awhile.

1. Walk It Out - This is a really fun! You basically walk in your living room or take steps with your feet and build things on your island by getting points with your steps. It's fun to see your island appear before your eyes. You can also unlock more songs throughout the game. There's a whole thread about this game on the nutrisystem site!

2. EA Sports Active - This is more of a fitness game where you have a fitness trainer and you focus on toning your body. And, it's quite hard. I did my first workout the other day and they really work your butt! The game comes with a resistant band, so you get to work your arms. I really like the running part of the game. It's fun to run on the track and pass people.

Lost another 1.5 pounds

I forgot to post this last week, but I lost 1.5 pounds in two weeks. A little less than normal, but I did cheat one night eating some frozen pizza I made for my nephews. It was so good, but I only had one piece. I wanted more, actually! Also, I have been working out and might have gained some muscle weight.

Maple Sausage - Review

I tried the maple sausage for breakfast the other day. It was pretty good. I put it on a thin sandwich bun with an egg. The sausage had a slightly funny taste to it, but overall it was pretty good. I only ordered one, because I wasn't sure about the taste. I'm going to order more of these next month! Yum!

New shipment of food!

I received my new shipment of food and guess what I received in my box! A teddy bear with the number 10 on it. I guess they wanted to congratulate me for losing 10 pounds! That was nice of Nutrisystem to do! I made sure I ordered plenty of hamburgers, but now I think I ordered too many! I have a total of 11. Oh, well. I can do a lot with the hamburgers. Like make tacos! I ordered a lot of tuna salad. I was just getting bored of the lunches, but this tuna salad is so good! I ordered 1 maple sausage. I only ordered 1, because there seems to be mixed reviews on the boards. I didn't order any butterscotch pudding. Not because of the protein issue. You can add milk and that's 4 grams of protein! Several people on the boards said that it wasn't that good and didn't taste like butterscotch. I'm not really into pudding anyways. I like ice-cream and snacks like popcorn or chocolate bars.

Asian Style Beef Frozen Meal - Review

A few people on the nutrisystem boards did not like this meal, so I never ate it and saved it for last. I finally ate it the other night. It was so good! What are these people talking about? I love it. It's now one of my favorite frozen meals! It has beef, vegetables, rice, white chestnuts with yummy sauce. It's great!

Orange Creme Bar - Review

I had the orange creme bar the other night. It was really good. In the beginning, I could taste a little bit of that nutra-sweet flavor, but after awhile I couldn't taste that nutra-sweet flavor. I'm starting to like the ice-creams now. In the beginning, I didn't like the nutra-sweet flavor, but now I'm getting used to it or it doesn't bother me that much.

2.5 pounds gone!

Well, it's been another 2 weeks and I lost 2.5 pounds! That's a total of 9.5 pounds since I started nutrisystem. I'm happy that I'm losing, even though I think it's a small amount. I have been walking more last week and getting motivated to exercise. Lately, if I don't think I have time to exercise, I will go shopping, but before I actually go shopping, I'll park my car in the parking lot and walk 20 minutes. After I do my walking, I will do my shopping.

Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Pizza

There has been a lot of talk on the Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Pizza. I guess a lot of people sub this pizza for their nutrisystem dinners. So, I decided to try it. It was pretty good. I added artichokes and sliced tomatoes and I was happy with the taste. I also tried a 150 calorie pizza from whole foods, but didn't like it that much. Not much taste to it. The trader joe's reduced guilt pizza is much better!

BBQ Sauce with Pork Wrap

I was really scared to try this. Some negative reviews on the nutrisystem board, but it was really good. I sauteed some bell peppers and onions, mixed in the bbq pork wrap, put it in a tortilla with a dab of ff sour cream. It was pretty good. The only problem I had with this is that it fell apart! Next time, I want to try to make it like an open face pizza. A lot of people on the nutrisystem boards recommend this!

3 pounds gone!

I haven't weighed myself in about two weeks, but I lost 3 pounds (7 pounds since I started the nutrisystem). I was hoping for at least 4 pounds, but I haven't exercised much. My weight is getting less, so that's all that matters to me. I just need to get to the gym more often!

Spinach & Cheese Stuffed Shells (frozen)

I wanted to tell you guys a funny story. The other day, I took my nutrisystem dinner (Spinach & Cheese Stuffed Shells) to my massage class the other night. When we all had our break, I cooked it in the microwave and started eating it. Everybody asked what smelled so good! Of course, they all saw me eating my spinach & cheese stuffed shells. My massage instructor said, "I don't get it. How can something smell so good?" I thought that was funny and wanted to share that with you. It was pretty tasty and one of my favorite frozen meals.

Sloppy Joe Review

I had the sloppy joes yesterday. I sauteed some onions and bell peppers and added that to the sloppy joe mix with 1 oz. of wheat pasta. It looked really good, but it didn't taste that good! In fact, I couldn't finish it. My stomach hurt a little after eating it. I went on the boards and asked about the sloppy joes and somebody commented that they also had the sloppy joes and had severe gas cramps. I didn't have any gas cramps, just my stomach hurt. But, the next day I had a lot of gas! I won't be ordering these again!!

Day 26 - Breakfast

I once saw a blog about making fruity crepes using the nutrisystem package pancake mix. I wanted to try them so bad! It looked so good. For some reason, I could not flip the crepe. It was just too mushy. I made rasberry pancakes instead and they were aweseome! This is what I did:

1. I made pancakes like normal.
2. I added 1 cup of rasberries, a little water, and 1 tsp of splenda into a sauce pan. Cooked on medium heat until it looked saucy.
3. Put the rasberry and sauce on the pancake with a drop of ff cool whip.

Here is the blog about how to make fruity crepes. Maybe you will have better luck than I did:

Day 21-25

Wow, I have been so busy the last few days! Where has the time gone! My Reiki business is booming right now! I like being busy. I'm a little behind on the daily blogs, but I did want to upload a few pics of some awesome food I made:

1. Tuna salad. Oh my gosh, this was awesome! It tasted so good!! I put the tuna salad on a light wheat bun. I mixed a little bit of onion and pickles in the tuna salad, but honestly it didn't even need that. It was already tasty in the beginning! I was bummed that I was out of tomatoes! That would have been great with tomato, but I did put lettuce on the sandwich. So good! I'm ordered many more of these next time!

2. Tacos. I recently saw a post about somebody on the boards that made tacos with the hamburger patty. I thought I would try that too! My nephews were coming over to my house for dinner and I made my nephews tacos, so I made myself some tacos too! I re-hydrated the hamburger like normal. Put it in a pan with some pam and cooked it a little bit with chopped onion and chopped the hamburger into pieces. I cooked two corn tortillas with pam. I added the chopped beef, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, ff cheese, and catsup. One word. AMAZING! So good. You guys need to try this one!

3. Banana Pancakes. I used the regular dry pancake mix to make banana pancakes. This was my first time making the dry pancake mix. It was alright. The pancakes seemed kind of dry. I think I will stick with the blueberry pancake mix.

Frozen Food!

I received my frozen food today! Yeah! I received it a day after the dry food. I barely had room in the freezer, but I'm glad all the food fit okay. I'm really liking the pepperoni pizza and the ice-cream sandwiches!

Day 20

I tried some new nutrisystem food today and I wanted to tell you guys about them.

For lunch, I tried the minestrone soup. Before I made this, I went on the boards and searched for this soup. I found a few suggestions on how to make it better. I added boiling water to the cup, stirred it, and put a lid on top of it for 20 minutes. Then, I steamed up some brocoli and green bell pepper. After 20 minutes, I stirred it again, dumped it in a sauce pan. I added the brocoli and green bell pepper, 3 spoons of can tomatoes with garlic and basil, and garlic powder. I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top. It was pretty good! It wasn't as good at the mexican tortilla soup, but very good!

For dinner, I had the frozen chicken dinners with green beans. That was very tasty and very good!

2nd box of food!

I received my 2nd box of food today! Yeah, I'm so excited!! I tried most of the food, so I know what I want. I'm also trying new foods!

I ordered plenty of popcorn, blueberry pancakes, hamburgers, flatbread pizzas, mexican tortilla soup, and southwestern wraps.

The new food I'm trying:

Sloppy Joe's
Tuna Salad
Vegetable Fajita
Italian-Style Wedding Soup

Day 19

For breakfast, I had more oatmeal and 1/2 of a grapfruit. An hour later, I had 1 scrambled egg with salsa. For lunch, I had the roasted vegetable pizza. That was pretty good and I loved the crust! For dinner, I had the rotini with meatballs. I heated it up in the microwave, then dumped it into a pan with sauteed green bell peppers, spices, and chopped tomatoes. I added ff parmesan cheese on top. It was alright. I think I will add more spices next time. I had a nice salad with ff thousand island dressing. I'm really liking this ff thousand island dressing. I can't even tell it's ff! It's that good. I buy the Kraft brand, because that's what everybody on the nutrisystem boards said to get and it's awesome!

For dessert, I had a luna white chocolate macadamia bar. There were a lot of posts about this bar and good for dessert. It was pretty good. It has a lot of protein in it. But, I think I like the kashi bars better. I'm running out of desserts, because I don't like all the ice-cream, so it was a good choice.

Day 18

Today, for breakfast I had cinnamon oatmeal with half of a grapefruit. I also scrambled 1 egg with salsa an hour later. I can't remember what I had for lunch. I'll have to think about that. For dinner, I brought the packaged spaghetti with meat sauce to my class and ate it on break. For some reason, I didn't like it too much. I don't know why. I liked it the first time! It was almost like a nutrisweet flavor to it. That sucks, now what am I going to do for dinner? I'm getting low on my dinner options and I'm liking less stuff. And, I'm craving those hamburgers. I want one almost every night. Is it really bad to have a hamburger every night?

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Day 17

For breakfast, I had the frozen omelette with ham & cheese. It was actually pretty good. Better than the veggie omelette. Maybe I have to get used to the frozen omelettes.

For lunch, I had the pasta parmesan with brocoli. I searched for this food on the boards of the nutrisystem and followed the suggestions they gave. This is what several people on the boards said to do to make it taste better:

1. Add boiling water to the fill line of the cup. Stir well.
2. Cover the cup. Wait 20 minutes.
3. Stir again and wait another few minutes.

I also made some brocoli and mix it together in a saucepan. It was tasty and I would make again!

For dinner, I decided to try the hamburger again. A few people on the boards said to mix some worchestire sauce in the hot water of the hamburger. I did that, but the burger felt a little salty. Maybe I put too much in? Someone on the boards recommended grilling the buns with pam. I did that and it was awesome! The burger itself still needs work I think. I also made some carrot fries and they were so good. All I did was slice some carrots and put in a bowl with some salt, pepper, pam, and rosemary spice. I mixed everything together and put it on a baking sheet for 20 minutes at 425 degrees. Awesome! I'm going to make more next time! I also added a salad to my dinner. It was a good dinner.

Day 16

I had some interesting meals today. I cooked up the frozen pancakes, microwaved them and put fresh sliced bananas on top. Pretty good. I would like to try the packaged pancake mix next time and put bananas inside the mix. I served the pancakes with half of a grapefruit. An hour later, I had 1 egg scrambled with pace salsa. It was tasty!

After breakfast, I weighed myself and lost 2 pounds!! I was happy to lose some more pounds. I lost a total of 4 pounds in two weeks. Not as much as other people have lost, but at least it's something!

For lunch, I had the mexican tortilla soup. I dumped everything in a sauce pan and added green beans, green bell pepper in the mix. I put a tablespoon of ff sour cream and sprinkled some ff cheese on top. It was really good! By far, one of my favorite lunches!

For dinner, I had the meat lasagne. I thought it was just okay and had a weird taste afterwards. I won't be ordering that one again.

Day 15

I didn't have time to take pictures of all my food today, because I was in massage class all day. For breakfast, I had more of that yummy cinnamon cereal with blueberries. For lunch, I had the meatball sandwich. It was pretty good. For dinner, I had the frozen margherita pizza. I added some sauteed onion, green/red bell peppers, and zucchini. I also added some olives and sliced tomatoes. It was pretty good and the crust was amazing. But, it wasn't as good as the flatbread pizza.

For dessert, I tried the ice-cream sandwich. It was actually pretty good. I was afraid of tasting the nutra sweet flavor, but it didn't really taste all that bad.

Day 14 - Dessert

I had the chocolate peanut bar for dessert tonight. It had a nice flavor to it and really tasty. It was also bigger than some of the other bars. I will be adding more of these to my next order!

Day 14 - Dinner

I had the frozen raviolis for dinner. Several people on the nutrisystem boards seemed to really like this dish. It is actually really good! The sauce tastes rich. I steamed up 2 cups of carrots on the side.

Day 14 - Lunch

I had the hot dog for lunch. When I first saw it on the menu, I didn't think it would be very good. But, people on the boards seem to love it. At least, most of them. I wanted to make it really good, so I put my hot dog on a bun with mustard, tomatoes, onions, and fat free cheese. It wasn't as good as I was expecting. The hot dog seemed kind of mushy instead. I won't be ordering it again. I had 2 cups of cooked brocoli for my vegetable.

Day 14 - Breakfast

I made blueberry pancakes again for breakfast. They were good and tasty. I like to put extra berries and sprinkle on some fat free syrup. I had fruit and 1 oz. turkey slices an hour later.

Day 9-13

I had a busy week and was unable to take pictures of all my food this week, but I did take a few pictures.

1. Nutricinnamon Squares Cereal. Very good! Most people on the nutrisystem boards liked this cereal and they were right! It is super good and tastes fresh. I added blueberries and it was yummy!

2. Flatbread Pizza. I once saw a pic on the boards on this pizza with roasted vegetables on top and it looked so good, it was giving me ideas! I added sauteed onion, bell peppers, squash, olives, artichokes, and sliced tomatoes. I also added laughing cow cheese on the crust before the sauce. Oh my gosh! This was sooo good! This is now my favorite dinner!!!

3. I couldn't wait to try the hamburger, because they were raving about these on the boards. But, it was just okay for me. Nothing special. Somebody on the boards talked about adding worchestire sauce in the water. I may try that next time. It might take me awhile to get used to the taste also. I will try them again, because I have 3 left!

Other foods I have tried this week: chicken fajita melt (yummy!), steak melt (very good!), beef stew - dinner (good flavor), vegetable beef stew (very good).

I weighed myself last Monday and I lost 2 pounds! It's been a week and I thought I would lose more pounds, but I am happy with 2 pounds! I don't think I'm drinking enough water, so I will try to increase my water this week!

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Day 8 - Dinner

I had the southwestern-style chicken wrap for dinner tonight. It was pretty good. I made it like a burritto and added sauteed onions and bell peppers, lettuce, tomato, ff sour cream, and salsa. Yum!

Day 8 - Lunch

I had the toasted ham and cheese for lunch. It was so good! It was really crispy, too! I ate it with steamed green and yellow squash. Yummy!

Day 8 - Breakfast

I had the apple cinnamon oatmeal again. It was actually really good. Someone on the message boards on the nutrisystem said to add water in the microwave, then add some milk after it is heated up. Makes a big difference and I liked it!

Day 7 - Dinner/Dessert

I had a frozen entree for dinner tonight. Glazed Chicken Tenders. It was good and reminded me of a regular tv dinner. Not bad!

For dessert, I had the nacho crisps. That was gross and had a nasty taste to it. I'm beginning to not like the chips they have for dessert. I even tasted the ice-cream and I didn't care for the nutri-sweet flavor. But, I do like the chocolate bars!

Day 7 - Lunch

I made the three cheese pasta with chicken. I put it in a sauce pan with vegetables and garlic powder. It was pretty and I would make this again.

Day 7 - Breakfast

I had the french toast for breakfast this morning. I sprinkled some fat free syrup and topped it with blueberries. I don't really like the taste of fat free syrup, but if I don't put too much on, I can't taste it much. I thought the french toast was good, even though someone on the boards didn't like it.

Day 6 - Dessert

I had the coconut almond bar for my dessert tonight. It kind of reminded me on an almond joy bar. It was good!

Day 6 - Dinner

I had the macaroni & cheese with beef for dinner tonight. Instead of microwaving it, I decided to make it in a sauce pan on medium heat, adding the water. It turned out really well and had a good flavor. It was really cheesy and creamy. I was highly impressed. It doesn't look like the pic on the package. The hamburger is smaller in size. I had it with brocoli. It was filling and another favorite dinner!

Day 6 - Lunch

I had the brocoli soup for lunch, but it turned out really mushy and chunky. I went on the message boards later and a few people gave me some ideas. They thought that I didn't mix the brocoli soup very well. That could have been the case and I will try that next time.

Day 6 - Breakfast

I had the egg fritatta for breakfast. I know that most people on the message boards on the nutrisystem site don't like the egg fritatta. But, I followed a few suggestions from people on the boards to make it better. I mixed one egg with vegetables and scrambled it like regular eggs and it was still gross! I did not like it. In fact, I wasn't even going to try the other dry egg product (scrambled eggs with veggies). I called nutrisystem today and told them that I wanted to exchange some of my old food for new food and they let me keep my old food. But, they are sending me some blueberry pancake mixes, which I think is the best dry breakfast they have! Maybe even the best frozen too!
